The RSB is available with a range of rubber properties including a high damping rubber, as well as a hybrid bearing with a high damping rubber plus the lead plug providing many of the advantages of both models.
As an alternative to the lead rubber bearing the high damping rubber
bearing is ideal for seismic isolation with one device - supporting the
structure, providing the elastic restoring force and also the required
amount of damping up to a maximum of 10-15% of critical.
